“The markets have been so good to me that I feel I should give back something in return. I can’t say that I have been successful because I am better than anybody else. By the grace of God, I was in the right place at the right time, so I feel a tremendous obligation to share.” – Paul Tudor Jones, in Market Wizards by Jack Schwager.
In the end, I need to remember that the final goal shouldn’t be about money. To me, money is simply a tool, a stepping stone. Making money through the markets is only a means to break free from the rat race, but after that, the real challenge begins for me: I want to fund an education program in Cambodia, give liberal arts in college the support that it deserves, fund microfinance in Nepal, save the environment, and (as corny as it sounds) change the world someday.
